Dear Friends, Colleagues, Supporters, and Collaborators of the Trauma Research Foundation Community,

As 2020 draws to a close, we invite you to look back with us on one of the most challenging years in recent memory. It has been a year of untold suffering and loss for multitudes; of distance in work, distance in socializing, in which the well-off have been for the most part able to keep at a safe distance from exposure to the virus, and the working poor joined frontline and essential workers in close proximity to the dangers of viral exposure. As the pandemic swept across the face of the planet and wrought isolation, confusion, social unrest; racial, political and economic violence; protest, no person’s life was left untouched. We all recognized the need for comprehensive change.

We have learned new ways of being apart and together. We in the world of mental health and trauma treatment have been among those who moved to work remotely. Almost overnight, the intimate work of trauma processing became a digital based service and experience.
